Peter Filimaua is an award-winning Mexican and Samoan filmmaker. He received his BA in Media Production and Film Studies from Pepperdine University and his MFA in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California.

Peter was selected as a directing candidate in Visual Communication’s Armed With a Camera Fellowship in 2022 and the CBS Leadership Pipeline Challenge in 2023.

Grounded in his multicultural identity, Peter aims to add a new element of entertainment by centering the histories and perspectives of his people in front of and behind the camera. Believing storytelling to be a universal language that unites hearts and minds, he is dedicated to illuminating the intricacies of his cultures on the big screen.
